Summary

Metal-detecting between 1997 and 2024 recovered Roman and medieval pottery sherds; an Early Saxon glass bead; Late Iron Age, Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins; a medieval jetton; post-medieval tokens and a range of other, undated and Bronze Age to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include an undated lead weight; a Bronze Age rapier; Roman brooches, a pin and probable furniture knob; an Early Saxon gold bracteate suspension; a Late Saxon vessel foot; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; medieval harness mounts, a harness hook, ferrule, book clasp, lead seal matrix and lead spindle whorl; medieval/post-medieval purse bar and purse frame fragments, a scabbard chape, iron ring and lead spindle whorl; a post-medieval book clasp, harness mount, fork, mount or furniture fitting and unidentified silver object and a late post-medieval/modern silver button and lead ammunition.
