Summary

Metal detecting recovered finds dating from the prehistoric to the post medieval period. These include prehistoric burnt flints, pieces of Roman and medieval to post medieval pottery, part of a medieval buckle and a medieval to post medieval strap fitting. Medieval and post medieval coins were also found.

1996. Metal detecting finds. Opposite Goose Lane.
Prehistoric pot boiler.
Post medieval coin.
Six medieval sherds, three late medieval/transitioanl, two lead glazed earthenware.
Late medieval/early post medieval decorated mount with central circular hollow cast boss and solid lobe to one side bearing attachment shank on reverse. Other side has sheared off but was probably same.
Rectangular section bronze rod, tapering to a trapezoidal point. At the other end, the rod is broken off and the edges have slashes and chamfers cut into them. ?Date/use.
Flat circular lead weight - no markings. 54.7g (1.93oz). Undatable.
