Summary

Metal detecting at this location in 1997 and 2001 recovered a post medieval rectangular lead cloth seal with lettering surviving on one of its faces. Part of a Late Saxon strap end was also retrieved.

Post medieval rectangular lead cloth seal. 16th/17th century. Probably a searchers seal. XLII on one face. Indistinct letters on other face - possibly searchers name/initials.
