Full Description
Site of first two icehouses for fishing use in Great Yarmouth. 80/81 Riverside, Gorleston (rear of).
Constructed 1853 by Hewitts of Barking. 6000 tons capacity. Demolished about 1900 though one wall survived until World War Two bombing. Dock Tavern Lane to south was formerly Old Icehouse Road.
