Summary

In 1997 a Late Bronze Age hoard of four socketed axeheads and fragments of at least two swords were recovered during metal-detecting. Further metal-detecting between 1999 and 2020 recovered Roman pottery sherds; Late Iron Age, Roman, Middle Saxon, medieval and post medieval coins; medieval jettons and a range of other, undated and Middle Bronze Age to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include an undatable finger ring and copper alloy ring; a Middle Bronze Age spearhead; a Late Bronze Age sword and spearhead fragments (additions to the hoard found in 1997); a Late Bronze Age/Early Iron Age leather-working knife; an Iron Age brooch; a probable Iron Age bracelet fragment; Roman brooches, a cosmetic mortar, bell and silver finger ring; a Middle/Late Saxon silver strap end; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; a medieval bell, padlock key, leash swivel, furniture fitting and copper alloy seal matrix and a post-medieval coin weight, furniture fitting, spur, knife end stop, miniature toasting fork, lead cloth seals and lead toy plate or dish.

4 socketed spearheads: 1 in half plus fibre (?wood); 1 complete; 1 near complete, tip missing; 1 complete with solid wood.
At least 2 swords: 2 fragments; 2 fragments; and ?+ 2 fragments (handle with 4 rivets). Depth about 450mm.
Roman coin found by [1] in 1998 during measuring in of find spot.
