Map

November/December 1997. Metal detecting. Two finds so far.
Post medieval jetton. See list in file.
Medieval belt fitting. Rectangular strip folded in half with a wide gap at fold and two recesses cut as if for a buckle frame. Top plate decorated with four crosses and an eight-pointed star, each in a square border of punch marks, with an outer border of pin marks around both. Fold has oblique traces of punch marks. No slot or hole for pin. Therefore not a buckle. Either a belt-stiffener or a plate from a folding strap or an enigmatic strap end. See (S1) figures 104 and 136.
