Barn, 17th/18th century brick to east and west; north gable flint with brick dressings. Pantiled. Three steads, later addition of another three stead bar north to south, outshut and cart porch to east. Brick quoins with flint wall to north gabled with clasping piers to west suggest end of timber framed structure. Tiebeams on wallposts and
struts, butt purlins and collars.
Information from (S1).
Seen only in passing by E. Rose (NLA) February 1998, but (S1) does not make clear that the blocked window in the south facade is large and central and actually cuts the string course. Is it a later loading door, or does it mark the site of a porch tower? Does the 1900 house which is aligned as a crosswing across the east end replace part of the original building?
E. Rose (NLA), 10 February 1998.
