Summary

Fieldwalking in this area during 1998 noted a scatter of burnt flints at the western end of this field. These potentially represent prehistoric 'pot boilers' indicating the location of a burnt mound. Subsequent metal-detecting between 2016 and 2018 recovered a medieval lead spindle whorl and lead weight and a medieval/post-medieval copper alloy vessel fragment.
