Summary

In 1998 a concentration of burnt flints has been identified, which may be a prehistoric burnt mound. Other scatters of prehistoric burnt flint have been found nearby in and to the west of Sporle Wood.

Visited and verified by B. Cushion (NLA).
An area around 35m x 20m of burnt flint to east of Sporle Wood (Context 1). Rest of field not inspected due to ongoing cultivation. This may be a prehistoric burnt mound. Scatters have also been noted within and to west of Sporle Wood.
