Summary

Trial trenching in 1998 exposed two intercutting parallel ditches, which may have marked the edge of the old village green. The date of these features was uncertain as the only find recovered was a single, small Late Saxon pottery sherd.

Evaluation trenching in advance of development.
Pair of parallel, intercutting ditches, perhaps marking green edge. Date uncertain, although one produced a small Late Saxon pottery sherd. Additional sherds of Late Saxon pottery were also recovered from the spoil heap.
Also adjuncts of 19th century school.
