Full Description
Site of Little Appleton deserted village. Earthworks remain.
17 October 1953.
Rubbish pit with shells found, see (S1).
5 April 1984. Visited by E. Rose and [1].
Earthworks continue across the stream to the north.
Two hollow ways notes, one running east to west, the other north to south.
Medieval sherds and tile from pipe trench.
March 1988. Metal-detecting.
Found at Context 2 [2]:
Late Bronze Age copper alloy socketed leaf-shaped spearhead. See drawing (S2).

Iron Age, Late Saxon and medieval pottery sherds recovered. Identified by A. Rogerson (NLA).
