Summary

A Bronze Age bowl barrow is visible as a slight earthwork. Prehistoric flint flakes have been found on the site. The barrow is close to other Bronze Age barrows in the area, see NHER 3624 and NHER 3625.

Found by A. Q. Watson and J. E. Sainty.
Possible bowl barrow 152m southwest of NHER 3625.
Much weathered.
Flint flakes on it.

Ploughed up 1941.

Bowl barrow on hill crest, on heath.
Mound 32m diameter, 1m high, unditched, covered in bracken and few elders.

Visited but very difficult to make out in bracken.

No apparent rabbit disturbance.

Whole area cleared of bracken and scrub under a Countryside Stewardship Scheme.
Profile now visible, although not of the same good dimesions as NHER 3624 and NHER 3625.
Letter to owner at his request to suggest fencing to preclude public access from Right to Roam legislation.
