Summary

A Bronze Age round barrow that may survive as a low mound and that is visible on aerial photographs. In 1940 it was 0.9m tall and in 1991 it may have stood to about the same height. An excavation was carried out in 1938 and a burnt area and stone object were discovered. Flint flakes have also been recovered.

Bowl barrow.
23 to 24m (25 to 26 yards) diameter, 0.9m (3 feet) high. Flakes.

1938.
Trench dug into barrow from 3.6m (12 feet) south of its centre to depth of 0.6m (2 feet). At 0.3m (1 feet) a piece of mica bearing stone was found and at 0.6m (2 feet) a layer of blackened calcined earth was noted

Ditch and bank in fair state of preservation. Diameter 27.9m (93 feet) ditch to ditch and height 0.88m (2 feet 11 inches).

No sign of barrow in ploughed field, but shows as ring ditch on 1946 RAF aerial photograph.
