Summary

Fieldwalking and metal detecting conducted over the period 1969-2000 recovered a large number of multi-period objects. Finds included Roman, Saxon, medieval and post medieval pottery sherds along with 19th century pantiles, a Roman coin of Constantine I and a Middle/Late Saxon disc brooch. Additionally, aerial photographs of the area show the cropmarks of two curving roads, and these were marked on the 1809 map of the parish.
