Map

Late 1998. Metal detecting east of Bucks Lane.
H. M. Geake (NCM) identified:
Medieval lead seal matrix - circular (diameter of 22.5mm), flat, thin (2mm) and rather flimsy, with no lug on reverse. Crudely but clearly engraved with an eight pointed star in a circle around which is a well-spaced legend in rather large letters +S'RADVLF'. The seal of Ralph. The 'D' is retrograde and the contraction mark is so close to the 'F' as to make it look like a 'P'. Polaroid and cast taken by NCM. 13th century. See (S1).
Part of large cast foot from medieval cooking vessel, with median ridge.
Medieval coin, see list in file.
A. Rogerson (NLA) 23 December 1998.
