Full Description
House. Stated in 1993 listing (S1) to be allegedly of 1830, but appearing to be of about 1810, however rear of house now a compound is the ground floor of a 16th century building with an archway. Remains of another ruined building also attached. Present house is of three bays three storeys with no door in façade; blind centre bays, brown brick. Inserted mid 19th century projecting bay window. Interior has good staircase. Stands on the site of Burney family house. Ornate late 18th century garden wall and iron gates run south to St Margaret's House. These are listed in their own right.

(S2) states that the estate on which this property stands was sold to the merchant Matthew Dawber in 1821 and shortly after purchasing the estate he built this house. It currently houses the church office for St Margaret's Church (NHER 1026).
