Summary

Fieldwalking in 1998 and 1999 recovered ?Mesolithic, Neolithic, Late Neolithic/Bronze Age and undatable Late Prehistoric worked flints; Roman, Middle Saxon, Late Saxon, medieval and post-medieval pottery; a possible medieval roof tile; a medieval copper alloy vessel fragment and undatable iron slag.

1 ?Mesolithic backed blade fragment. See drawing (S1).
1 Neolithic polished flint axehead fragment, 1 unusual, possibly unfinished arrowhead, 21 end scrapers, 2 sides scrapers and 1 side and end scraper. See drawings of axehead fragment and possible arrowhead (S1).
1 Late Neolithic/Early Bronze Age plano-convex flint knife. See drawing (S1).
29 Late Prehistoric scrapers, 30 flake knives, 21 piercers, 10 spurred pieces, 14 notched flakes, 37 miscellaneous retouched flakes, 20 cores and 216 unmodified flakes.
1 medieval cast copper alloy vessel fragment (32 x 21mm) with horizontal rib. Very abraded.
