Full Description
1930 to 1932 by Boardman.
Dutch style with shaped gables and hipped roofs of red pantiles.
Contained both public and private wards, with kitchens, operating theatre and offices all in blocks linked by corridors. Important as a late example of the idea that cottage hospitals should be 'picturesque' to resemble a cottage rather than an institution.
See (S1).
E. Rose (NLA), 9 April 1999.
See (S2) for review of proposal for listing.
August 2010. Historic Building Recording.
Recording undertaken prior to rebuilding of hospital.
See report (S3), which includes photographic survey, Wilson Compton report and structural condition survey report.
S. Howard (NLA), 19 August 2010. Amended by P. Watkins (HES), 16 April 2015.
