Summary

Metal-detecting at this site between 1998 and 2008 recovered two medieval coins, a post-medieval jetton and a small number of other metal objects including a Roman steelyard weight, a Late Saxon stirrup strap mount and a post medieval coin weight. A systematic fieldwalking and metal-detecting survey of part of this field in 2006 recovered no finds.

November 1998. Metal-detecting.
Rather worn square copper alloy coin weight. Hard to read. Obverse: Archangel Michael spearing a dragon. Reverse: less clear but probably Dutch makers mark. Weighing 2.87g, for a half angel. 16th century or 17th century.
