Full Description
April/ May 1999. Metal detecting.
16th century thimble, copper alloy. With unthickened undecorated rim and flattish top. The sides and top are covered with a spiral of neat handmade indentations. The spiral begins with a maker's stamp which is too corroded to read.
A.Rogerson (NLA) 8 June 1999.
