Full Description
June/July 1999 Metal detecting.
Medieval box/casket mount, copper alloy. Now bent into a U shape. A 'D' section strip terminates in a spike adjacent to an iron-filled rivet hole, which lies next to transverse mouldings and edge nicks (obscured by corrosion). The other end is incomplete and flaring to where there may have been another rivet hole next to further transverse mouldings. A hint of gilding here and there. Length about 75mm.
One body sherd late medieval glazed pottery.
