Map

January 1999. Metal detecting.
Medieval burial cross. It has a long circular section shaft, slightly bent and missing its tip but 4mm in diameter and about 110mm long. Topped with a narrow and a borad transverse moulding. Then a cross with circular section arms and a square plate in the centre. Each side arm ends in an onion shaped knob: the top arm is missing. It would have been used to pin the shroud together, like a pin.
A. Rogerson, (NLA) 28 July 1999.
