Summary

Observation of a trench for a new path at this spot recovered fragments of Iron Age and Roman pottery, two fragments of medieval roofing tile and one lump of smelting slag.

July 1999. Observation of trench for new path.
Roman greyware: one jar rim, one base, one dish rim, two body sherds, two storage jar bases (one with impressed decoration, ?string).
One base gabnade, reduced with oxidised exterior and some grits ?Iron Age.
Two fragments medieval roofing tile
One lump of smelting slag.
