Found on beach. Late 14th/15th century gold finger ring.
H.M. Geake (NCM) description: Beautiful gold ring. Simple hoop decorated on the exterior with a three groove zig zag, the angles filled with a well-cut flower between two leaves. On the inside is a 'posy' or motto reading in black letters 'de bon coer', from a good heart. A standard motto of the time, late 14th or 15th century. In very good condition for a beach find.
Retained for Treasure 3 August 1998 and subsequently acquired by Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 2002.117).
