Summary

Metal-detecting between 1999 and 2020 recovered Roman, Late Saxon and medieval pottery sherds; Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins; a medieval jetton and a range of other, Roman and medieval to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include a Roman brooch, finger ring and copper alloy nail; a potentially Roman lead alloy steelyard weight; medieval dress accessories and a harness pendant; a medieval/post-medieval thimble and scabbard chape and a post-medieval end stop from knife and stud or mount.

Roman brooch. 1st century. Dolphin type cast copper alloy with attachment for spring mechanism. Double longitudinal line of 'milled' decoration on bow. Moulded decoration on arms. Rear-facing hook intact. Large solid but incomplete catch plate.
