Map

February-March 1998. Metal detecting. Near site NHER 13559.
H. M. Geake (NCM) identified the finds.
One post medieval coin. See list in file.
Mystery object. Shaped rather like a modern felling axe, this tiny piece of cast bronze has a broken shank above the blunt end. Its not the tip from a Bronze Age chisel, or a Roman miniature votive axe - we think in fact the edges are so sharp that it could be post medieval. But what?
Polaroid (S1) taken.
A. Rogerson (NLA) 17 July 1999.
