Full Description
October to November 1999. Metal detecting.
Medieval stock jetton issued in Tournai.
Obverse: shield of France modern, with legend around reading *LENVB *ENB DNBCCBB: (fictitious).
Reverse: triple stranded cross fleury.
This copper alloy jetton is thick and weighs 5.90g; it may be a 'piefort' jetton which had a different accounting function to the usual thinner jetton.
15th century.
