Summary

Metal-detecting and fieldwalking at this location between 1999 and 2021 recovered prehistoric worked flints of unspecified type(s); medieval pottery sherds; post-medieval clay tobacco pipe; Roman, Middle Saxon, medieval and post-medieval coins (including a medieval penny made into a pendant); medieval to post-medieval jettons; post-medieval tokens and a range of other, Middle Bronze Age to post-medieval metal objects. These other metal finds include a Middle Bronze Age copper alloy rapier fragment; a Roman brooch and terminal from steelyard are; an Early Saxon hair/dress pin and a notable number of brooch fragments; a Middle Saxon pin; a Late Saxon to post-medieval lead spindle whorl; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories (including a medieval gold finger ring); medieval horse harness pendants, a book clasp, page turner, possible swivel, harness stud, thimble, copper alloy vessel fragment and lead window came; a ?medieval lead cloth seal; a medieval/post-medieval copper alloy toy cooking vessel; a post-medieval coin weight, sword-belt fitting, harness mount, book clasp, harness mount, casket key and lead cloth seals and an undatable lead object.

Undated lead unidentified object, irregular, almost heart-shaped, sheet with a cross on one side. The arms of the cross comprise two lines of rouletted chevrons, each with a central longitudinal ?incised line. 18mm by 17mm.

6 undatable fragments of lead waste.
