Full Description
Lockgate Farm. 1993 to 1994. Examination of site of garden of demolished farmhouse. Cross reference with site NHER 35369.
Thetford ware and medieval sherds, but few or no post medieval. Much animal bone.

The work was part of the same fieldwork programme that produced sites NHER 31878, 17733, 22349 and 21645, but this site and NHER 35369 were not reported to NLA at the time.

Lockgate Farm was built on an artificial earthwork mound, probably a saltern mound of Late Saxon to medieval date, which is recorded as NHER 42174.
