Summary

Fieldwalking, metal detecting and stray finds have revealed the site of a possible Roman settlement and cemetery in East Walton. The Roman artefacts found included a large quantity of pottery, (including samian ware), seven coins, two brooches, animal bones and oyster shells. An Iron Age coin and a medieval strap fitting have also been collected from this area.

Bradmoor Field 'B'.
Much samian ware including F18/31 or 31 (fourteen examples), F33 (five examples) F35/36 (one), F37 (five), F38 (three), Rusticated ware probably 2nd to 3rd century AD.
Mortar like Caister R.32 (late 2nd century). Mortarium like Caister R42 (late 3rd century).
Niedermendig lava and iron slag.
