Summary

The site of a picturesque, possibly 18th century post mill, featured in many paintings by artists of the Norwich School. Sadly, it was destroyed by fire in the 1930s, just as it was being prepared for preservation.

Site of post mill, said to have been of 18th century date but not shown on (S1), 1797.
Featured in many paintings of the Norwich School and in a stained glass windown formerly in the Rangers House, Mousehold Heath. Destroyed by fire in 1930s when being prepared for preservation. Circular enclosure (mound?) in/on which it stood still depicted by Ordnance Survey in Windmill Road in 1961.
