Full Description
March to May 2000. Fieldwalking for STANTA Survey. Fieldwork Number F1.
Southeast of Lowster Hill Tumulus:
1 undatable prehistoric flint globular core (heavily battered) and 3 flakes (unmodified, minor edge damage, one with incipient patination). Previously recorded as Upper Palaeolithic, but this was almost certainly a misreading of UP in the identification notes (undatable prehistoric).
1 Iron Age pottery sherd (gritty).
Flint identified by P. Robins (NCM) and pottery by A. Rogerson (NLA). See finder's notes (S1) and published article (S2) for further details.
A. Rogerson (NLA), 27 July 2000. Amended by P. Watkins (HES), 26 April 2013.
