Full Description
October 1999 to February 2000. Metal detecting.
Fragment of copper alloy terminal from the foot of a cruciform brooch. The break is quite fresh, and occurs part of the way down the nose of the horse head terminal. At the break the nose is a hollow U shape in section, with a very slight ridge down the centre. Each nostril is a pointed oval, set at a V shaped angle, and between and below them is a drop shaped boss. This lies in the centre of a semi-circular extension, which has part circles punched along the lower straight edge and smaller circles punched along the curved edge. There also seem to be small circles punched on the extension around the edge of one of the nostrils.
