Before 25 September 2000. Metal detecting.
Early Saxon lower bow and foot of cruciform brooch. Side facets and double transverse grooves at base of bow and again at top of foot, then zone with chamfered sides above transverse ridge moulding between double grooves. Double grooved eye-brows, low (worn) eyes outlined by grooves which form remarkably eye-like ovoid shapes, median arris down snout and between nostrils. Break at bow is old as is that to the incomplete catch-plate. Three pin-hole casting flaws next to catchplate.
