Full Description
14 March 2001.
Circular pit lined with wood and containing large post revealed by collapse of pavement.
Purpose unknown; possible suggestion, some sort of water control feature.
See notes and photographs (S1) in file.
One suggestion is an early electricity supply pole, there having been insulation around the void.
E. Rose (NLA), 16 March 2001.
