Summary

Primrose Farm was demolished in 2001. It was a mid 16th century timber framed building. The western end was added to the older building and the eastern end in turn was rebuilt in the mid 17th century. The first floor of the eastern section was lowered at a later date and the house was reroofed in the 18th century and clad in brick. It was this brick cladding which hid the internal timber frame and resulted in the house being demolished. NAU excavations on the site after demolition found external wall foundations and four pieces of medieval pottery.
