Pre 1947. Stray Find.
From Manuel's Field and adjacent fields on Everington's farm:
Roman pottery including storage jar, colour-coated and grey wares.
Seen by R. R. Clarke (NCM) in 1947.
This pottery included a complete jar "turned up when ploughing deep for sugar beet" in 1943 - see sketch (S1) received from Ipswich Museum.
Information from (S2) and annotations on (S1).
According to (S3) in 1972 the complete pot was in the possession of [1], who confirmed that it had been found by a horseploughman in the vicinity of [2]. He also stated that he had recovered "…RB potsherds from most of his fields over the years.." but that "…no recent finds had been made".

Also from Manuel's Field "on site from which Roman pottery has come":
5 Roman coins (4 copper alloy coins of Elymaus 1st century AD and 1 silver coin of Parthia 1st century AD). All identified by the British Museum.
Shown to R. R. Clarke (NCM) by Dr Puddy in 1947 [3].

26 Roman greyware sherds including 1 bead and flange bowl rim, 2 bowl rims, 1 jar rim.
One Samian sherd.
Total includes fresh sherds.
