Summary

Part of a Neolithic polished flint axehead and a prehistoric flint flake have been discovered. The axehead has been badly damaged by burning.

About 1966. Finds made during tree clearance and planting in about 1966 within area of woodland on south side of Roman road (NHER 2796).
Neolithic central segment of parallel sided polished flint axe, badly damaged by burning lateral edges are bevelled. Residual length about 100mm, width 57mm, thickness 32mm.
Undatable prehistoric irregular secondary flint flake with worn/damaged edges, probably from natural circumstances.
