June 2001. Desk-based Assessment and Field Observation.
Assessment of proposed residential development site.
During a visit to the site it was observed that a number of trenches had already been excavated on the site. Initial archaeological investigations identified three ditches or gullies. Finds suggested that one was post-medieval or later in date while the other two features were undatable.

August 2001. Trial Trench.
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken on land at Buckhill House, Sedgeford comprised a single trial trench within the footprint of a proposed building development, machine excavated to a depth of 1.10m. Post medieval building debris and refuse dumps were revealed. No features or artefacts of archaeological interest were found within the trench.
