Map

No mapped location recorded.

The Castle Acre First School holds a number of archaeological finds that have been in their possession for "for many years". The provenance of these objects is not known.
5 Palaeolithic handaxes. Although the provenance of these items is not recorded their varying condition suggests that they came from at least three separate locations. It is however possible that at least two were from local gravel pits.
1 Neolithic flaked axehead.
1 Neolithic polished axehead.
1 Neolithic discoidal core.
4 post-medieval flints from gun flint knapping (1 blade core, 2 blades and 1 flake).
Information from H. Paterson (A&E) via Headmistress.
Identified by P. A. Robins (NCM). See descriptions in file.
A. Rogerson (NLA), 27 June 2001.
