Summary

Half of a possible Bronze Age ring ditch can be seen on aerial photographs of this area. It is possible that these marks are not archaeological, however, and might be the turning circle of a tractor.

Civil Parish COLNEY, SOUTH NORFOLK, NORFOLK

Map

25 June 1996. NLA air photography.
Cropmarks can be seen that appear to show as half a ring ditch. This is located to the southeast side of the field. It is possible that only half shows up due to the proximity to the edge of the field. Although this cropmark appears to resemble a ring ditch, it is always possible that the semi-circle is actually due to a compacted tractor turning circle.
