Full Description
8 July 1996. NLA aerial photography (S1).
Cropmarks visible in fields next to Mill Cottages.
There are several features showing including a probable trackway/road.
Also visible is a large ring ditch/circular enclosure (NGR TG 3846 1257) and a second smaller possible ring ditch (NGR TG 3846 1251) which is adjacent to one of the linears.
H. Clare (NLA) 24 October 2001.
The central grid reference of this site has been altered from TG 3838 1255 to TG 3845 1256. The trackway and other possible enclosure features, previously recorded within this site, are now under NHER 49469.
May 2007. Norfolk NMP.
The cropmarks of a ring ditch, probably the remains of a Bronze Age round barrow, are visible on aerial photographs to the north of Mill Cottages, Upton with Fishley (S2). The site is centred on TG 3845 1256. The ring ditch is 30m in diameter and has three breaks in the ditch, it is not clear whether these are original features. Another ring ditch is located 250m to the east (NHER 49470). This ring ditch is located within an area of fields and trackways of possible late prehistoric to Roman date (NHER 49469).
S. Massey (NMP), 30 May 2007.
