Summary

Metal detecting between 2001 and 2019 recovered various worked flints, including a Late Mesolithic blade core, later prehistoric retouched flakes, flakes, a scraper and a borer and a post-medieval gunflint; Iron Age to post-medieval pottery sherds; medieval roof tile fragments; Iron Age, Roman, and medieval to post-medieval coins; post-medieval tokens and jettons and range of other, undated and Iron Age to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include an undated weight and spindle whorl; an Iron Age brooch; Roman brooches and a hair pin; a Roman to post-medieval weight; an Early Saxon brooch; Middle Saxon pins; a Late Saxon buckle and stirrup strap mount; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; a medieval cauldron fragment, mount, key, harness mount, hair pin, chafing dish fragment, ewer fragment, harness pendant, lace tag, spindle whorl, and unidentified object; medieval/post-medieval copper alloy vessel fragments and a thimble and post-medieval coin weights, spur rowels, thimbles, a chafing dish fragment, crotal bell, finger ring, harness mount, balance fragment, tap, engraved pipe tamper/signet ring, furniture fitting and window lead.
