Summary

Metal-detecting in this area during 2000 recovered a wide variety of metal artefacts and coins which dated to several archaelogical periods. Finds of note included a Roman bucket handle escutcheon plate, a Late Saxon cruciform stirrup mount, numerous medieval lead weights, a post-medieval bell and four sixpences of William III. Further metal-detecting in 2010 recovered Roman and post-medieval coins, Romano-British and post-medieval pottery and a post-medieval harness or belt mount.
