Full Description
Under kitchen floor.
Well; 1.05 to 1.2m (3 feet 6 inches to 4 feet) diameter. Not quite round. Lined with flint and mortar. Dug out to water level (about 3.3m (11 feet) down) - a rod 2.4m (8 feet) long sunk into bottom. Material in fill included brick fragments, iron objects including spur and hoe, lava quern, daub, 15th to 16th century sherds, stone mortar fragments.
