Summary

This building was originally a timber-framed house, perhaps a hallhouse with service wings, and of 16th century date. In the 17th century a chimneystack was inserted and alterations made to the upper floor. However, most evidence of this history was removed by the rebuilding in brick around 1800 and alterations made in about 1890. A good brick barn and stable dating to around 1800 survive in association with the house.
