In January 1998 an undated pit was observed during groundworks at this site. A single sherd of medieval pottery was also recovered.

January 1998. Watching Brief.
Observation of contractor's pits at 24-26 Prince of Wales Road.
Natural sand disturbed at 0.5m below basement floor. One pit noted.
Single medieval pottery sherd recovered (developed Stamford ware base).
