Summary

Metal detecting and fieldwalking in 2002 and 2021 recovered prehistoric worked flints, including Neolithic flakes and a possible scraper; Roman medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds; a post-medieval floor tile fragment; Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins; a post-medieval jetton and a range of other, Late Iron Age/Roman to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include a Late Iron Age/Roman brooch; a Roman brooch; a Middle/Late Saxon ansate brooch; a medieval key, strap end and copper alloy seal matrix; a medieval/post-medieval finger ring; and a post-medieval gold finger ring and lead cloth seals from Holland.
