Full Description
April 2002. Trial Trenching.
Evaluation of area of proposed development. Contexts 1 to 54 used.
A small number of ditches of probable Roman date were excavated in the north-east part of the site. In another area a few small post-holes were recorded, although these were undated. Elsewhere, the excavated deposits and features appeared to be mainly of modern date.
See report (S1) for further details. The results of this work are also summarised in (S2).
The associated archive has been deposited with the Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 2011.324).
J. Allen (NLA), 9 April 2002. Amended by P. Watkins (HES), 13 May 2015.
