Full Description
January 2001. NMP.
A section of beach defence can be seen as a structure between TF 7728 4519 and TF 7807 4544 on 1945 (S1 and S2) and 1946 (S3) aerial photographs. Another section of scaffolding joins this at TF 7772 4532 and runs north to south to TF 7772 4477, where it meets a tributary channel of the main sea channel. This would have been for the defence of land to the east in the case of a seaborne invasion. Such defences date to the World War Two period.
A. Hunt (NMP), 29 January 2001.
